We live in a culture where truth is blurred and faith is increasingly marginalized, and Christian parents are asking to be equipped. See the prepress reviews below.

Daren Overstreet is the Senior Leader at Anchor Point Church in Tampa, Florida, where he has served since 2022.  Prior to that, Daren served as an Evangelist and Senior Church leader at two different congregations in Tacoma and Seattle, Washington. He and his wife spent 26 years doing ministry in the Pacific Northwest while raising their family.  Daren holds a BA in Architecture from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a Master's in Theology from Rochester University in Detroit, Michigan. He is the author of Wildfire: How Progressive Theology is Impacting The Church.  His time in the Northwest uniquely prepared him for understanding how Biblical concepts can be altered or watered down in search of ways to make the Gospel of Jesus more relevant to an increasingly post-Christian society.  He has taught numerous workshops, and spoken to thousands of young people about the need to be Biblically grounded in an age where feelings and desires are replacing God's clear vision of morality.  He is passionate about equipping leaders and parents to raise up the next generation of Christians with God's timeless word as the primary and ultimate source of truth and identity.

Praise for Biblically Resilient Parenting

Daren Overstreet presents a useful guide for parents struggling to navigate our radically postmodern age. Positive and accessible, this book provides the essentials needed for any parent to wade into the trickiest of culturally charged topics with their kids. Overstreet does a good job of simplifying difficult concepts and making them straightforward and actionable. And I would go even further to say this book is appropriate for teens themselves as they seek to faithfully navigate the choppy philosophical waters of their social world. Biblically Resilient Parenting does not attempt to offer a comprehensive parenting strategy; rather, it provides a “minimum effective dose” of wisdom for parents who deeply desire to get it right when it comes to coaching their children through the prevailing landscape of moral relativism. This book is more than just a simple guide, however. It is also a clarion call for God’s people to love our own children in the best way possible: full of grace and truth. —Dr. Sean St. Jean, author of Spiritual Trauma: A Guide for Healing Your Heart from Church Hurts

Daren’s book is essential reading for Christian parents today. At a time when the world is distracting us like never before, he reminds us that “the most crucial mission field for the church today is the family.” This book helps us understand what’s happening in our culture, the lies Satan is whispering to us and our kids, and—most importantly—how we can combat those lies with clarity, conviction, and hope. Daren’s call is simple but powerful: lift your head, understand what’s happening, and intentionally disciple your children at home. Convicting, hopeful, and deeply practical, this book is a needed guide for every parent who wants to raise children who love Jesus, walk in truth, and shine in a dark world.  —Tiffany Chacon, author and mother of two, Chattanooga TN

Biblically Resilient Parenting is a fresh perspective on parenting in the twenty-first century. Daren Overstreet takes the parenting discussion to a much deeper level by unpacking the worldviews blind parenting practices. While Daren’s approach seeks to bring to the surface the deeper narratives behind parenting, he also gives practical advice for implementation of a biblical approach. This book is a must read for every parent!  —Dr. David Hooper, senior evangelist, Austin Christian Church

Offering practical guidance for Christian parents in a postmodern society, Daren delves into controversial topics that every family wrestles with. Biblically Resilient Parenting is helpful, concise, and direct. —Ross Sawyer, church leader, Rise Church, Indianapolis IN

Written with the compassion of a father, the experience of a pastor, and the insight of an astute cultural observer, this parenting book is like no other, as it opens our eyes to the world our children are living in as well as equips us to meet them where they are and help them navigate it.  —Jeff Chacon, elder, Anchor Point Church, Tampa FL

Biblically Resilient Parenting offers a powerful look at the worldviews shaping how we raise our kids, and my dad brings clarity and conviction to a conversation many parents don’t even realize they’re a part of. He equips families with practical, biblical, and relevant tools to proactively teach and train their children against the cultural lies competing for their hearts. As someone shaped by his parenting, I’m grateful to see the wisdom I grew up with refined and expanded on in this timely book.  —Zack Overstreet, son of the author

This book is the first of its kind to address today’s hollow and deceptive philosophies that Paul warned us about in Colossians 2:8. Daren masterfully explains each one and how we as parents and grandparents can guide our kids into everlasting truth. The practicals for parents and the discussion questions for group study are relatable and constructive. This is a must read for all Christian parents swimming upstream in today’s culture.  —LauriAnne Conkling, women’s ministry leader, Anchor Point Church, Tampa FL

The world has changed drastically over the last few decades. This book is a must read for parents and ministers in our post-Christian culture. It will help you gain a better understanding of the issues our kids are dealing with. I love the biblical and practical solutions that are provided.  —Vince Pierce, church leader, Tulsa International Church, Tulsa OK

In a time where truth and the Christian worldview are constantly under attack, there is no front more vital to protect than the minds of our children. As a father of three, I feel not only equipped but also inspired to fight for truth in the hearts of my kids. Daren combines God’s word with painstaking research to practically instruct parents on how to help prepare their kids for the battles that lie ahead.  —Kyle Plum, minister and father of three, SD.Church, San Diego CA

I’m immensely appreciative that Daren has jumped into the raging waters of the contemporary issues of our day and has surfaced with an excellent book full of information and practical direction for our parents. My prayer and hope are that parents will take a good hard look at their approach concerning these issues and conclude that it’s time to face their fears or insecurities—or just plain ole ignorance—and jump in and take a swim with Daren. Come on in! The water is fine!  —Matt Fridley, evangelist and elder (retired), Chicago IL

As a father of five (including two adult children), I consider the spiritual future of the next generation on a daily basis. Living in a post-Christian society, I’ve seen firsthand how easily spiritual values can weaken. I’m grateful for resources like Biblically Resilient Parenting, which offers Christian parents wisdom, practical strategies, and insight into the unique faith dilemmas this generation is facing. Far too many parenting books focus on parenting techniques; this one focuses on truth. Daren pulls back the curtain on the cultural and faith confusion our kids are swimming in, and then he gives parents something far better than fear or outrage: biblical clarity, confidence in the gospel, and ways to discuss faith with our children. This book has made me more awake to the issues that are plaguing our children and more hopeful about what God can do in believing families.  —Alex Whitaker, evangelist and father of five, Charleston SC

For the gospel-centered parent, this unique book is a tremendously helpful and hopeful tool. As Scripture says, “There is nothing new under the sun.” So it is with the lies and deception of the devil. However, with changing cultures comes new disguises for his deception. Daren exposes the disguises of our day with clarity, discernment, precision, and keen relevance to our children’s lives by shining the light of God’s word into the conversation. You can’t read this book without your Bible open, making Biblically Resilient Parenting more about transferring the truths of Scripture to the next generation than about mastering the deception of the current culture.  —Derek Overstreet, senior pastor, Sovereign Grace Church
